Objective flow
Expedition divides the battlefield into sectors between attacker and defender spawns. The active sector contains objectives that attackers must complete before the advance can continue. Those objectives are semi-randomized, so the same map does not always produce one fixed route.
Attacking
Attackers need to complete the current objective chain while preserving Momentum. Treat Momentum as the ability to sustain the advance; the reviewed post-launch summary confirms its importance but does not support publishing one universal conversion formula here.
- Confirm which objective is active before leaving cover.
- Move enough players onto the objective rather than stopping at its edge.
- Change the class mix when construction, explosives, spotting or medical support is missing.
- Re-read the sector after an objective completes.
Defending
Defenders win by stopping the advance. Delaying attackers outside the objective is useful only when it protects the active objective or drains their ability to continue.
- Build and hold around the current objective, not an obsolete one.
- Cover approaches without stacking the entire team in one lane.
- Preserve support roles so a single loss does not collapse the defense.
Common failure patterns
| Failure | Why it hurts |
|---|---|
| Fighting far from the active objective | Kills may not change the sector state |
| Repeating the last match's route | Semi-random objectives can make it irrelevant |
| Ignoring support roles | The team loses ammunition, construction, spotting or revives |
| Treating Momentum as an infinite timer | The attack has a limited ability to continue |
Win-condition recap
Attackers must keep completing the active sector objectives without exhausting the advance. Defenders must stop that chain. Exact sector counts and objective combinations can vary, so this guide does not claim one universal layout.
