Gallipoli Beginner Guide — Your First Match

Learn what to do in your first Gallipoli match: objectives, class choice, weapon handling, cover and a short checklist.

Direct answer

What should I do in my first Gallipoli matches?

Follow the active sector objective, choose a class job you understand and support the squad. All available classes, weapons and tools start unlocked, while deliberate handling, staged reloads and suppression reward cover and repositioning.

  • Play the active objective
  • Fill a useful class role
  • Use cover before reloading or re-peeking

First-match priorities

Your first job is to read the active sector objective. Expedition advances through objectives rather than a free-form kill race, so a good position is one that helps the current attack or defense.

  1. Find the active objective marker.
  2. Join the squad's route instead of crossing open ground alone.
  3. Pick a role whose immediate job is clear.
  4. Move between cover before aiming or reloading for long periods.

Objective awareness

Objectives can be semi-randomized. Do not assume the last route you played is active again. Check the sector state after every capture or defense and be ready to change lanes.

Choose a useful class

All available classes, weapons and tools begin unlocked. You can therefore choose the role the squad needs immediately instead of grinding through an unlock tree.

This is a role-selection method, not a ranking. No source reviewed for this page establishes one universal best class.

Respect weapon handling

Reloads use stages, so an interruption does not always force the entire sequence to restart. Weapon weight, sway and suppression still make exposed reloads dangerous. Break line of sight, complete the safe part of the reload and reposition if the same lane is covered.

First-match checklist

  • I know the active objective and which side is attacking.
  • My class adds a job the squad can use.
  • I am not repeatedly crossing the same open lane.
  • I re-check the objective after the sector changes.
  • I treat suppression as a gameplay effect, not only a screen effect.
